HiSET® Test Administration: Overview

The HiSET® exam can only be administered at state-approved test centers. To become a test center, please contact your state representatives.

Administering the Test

Prior to test day, sign into your HiSET account to print out the roster of test takers who are taking the HiSET exam on that day. Use this list to manage test takers as they arrive, assign the correct test forms and prepare seating arrangements.

On the day of the test, check in the test takers using the roster printed from your HiSET administrator account.

If you had arranged with ETS to provide disability accommodations for any test takers, make sure that the accommodations are set up. Information about accommodations needed are provided on the testing day roster.

Follow state, jurisdiction and ETS policies, available in the training materials, to administer the test.

After you have completed the last test administration for the day, complete any necessary reports and send paper-based answer sheets to ETS using the ETS-provided UPS shipping labels.

Be sure to destroy any printed copies of the roster, as they contain personal information about the test takers.

Ordering Test Materials

Test materials, including books and answer sheets, can be ordered through your HiSET account for administrators. There is no limit on number of uses as long as books are in sufficiently good condition to ensure a fair administration for test takers.
